Jacob Meets Rachel | ||
| 1 Then Jacob went on his journey, and came to the land of the children of the east. | E UIShE IOQB RGLIU UILK ERTsA BNI QDM | א וישא יעקב רגליו וילך ארצה בני קדם |
| 2 He looked, and behold a well in the field, and, lo, three flocks of sheep lying there by it.--For out of that well they watered the flocks. | 13 It came to pass, when Laban heard the tidings of Jacob his sister's son, that he ran to meet him, and embraced him, and kissed him, and brought him to his house. | 15 Laban said unto Jacob: 'Because you are my brother, should you therefore serve me for nothing? tell me, what shall your wages be?' | TU UIEMR LBN LIOQB AKI EChI EThA UOBDThNI ChNM AGIDA LI MA MShKRThK | טו ויאמר לבן ליעקב הכי אחי אתה ועבדתני חנם הגידה לי מה משכרתך |
| 16 Now Laban had two daughters: the name of the elder was Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel. | TZ ULLBN ShThI BNUTh ShM AGDLA LEA UShM AQTNA RChL | טז וללבן שתי בנות שם הגדלה לאה ושם הקטנה רחל |
| 17 Leah's eyes were weak; but Rachel was of beautiful form and fair to look upon. | IZ UOINI LEA RKUTh URChL AIThA IFTh ThER UIFTh MREA | יז ועיני לאה רכות ורחל היתה יפת תאר ויפת מראה |

| 23 It came to pass in the evening, that he took Leah his daughter, and brought her to him; and he went in unto her. | KG UIAI BORB UIQCh ETh LEA BThU UIBE EThA ELIU UIBE ELIA | כג ויהי בערב ויקח את לאה בתו ויבא אתה אליו ויבא אליה |
| 24 Laban gave Zilpah his handmaid unto his daughter Leah for a handmaid. | KD UIThN LBN LA ETh ZLFA ShFChThU LLEA BThU ShFChA | כד ויתן לבן לה את זלפה שפחתו ללאה בתו שפחה |

| 33 She conceived again, and bore a son; and said: 'Because IAUA has heard that I am hated, He has therefore given me this son also.' | 34 She conceived again, and bore a son; and said: 'Now this time will my husband be joined unto me, because I have borne him three sons.' | 35 She conceived again, and bore a son; and she said: 'This time will I praise IAUA.'
