| 3 Is it any advantage to the Almighty, that you are righteous? Or is it gain to Him, that you make your ways blameless? | G AChFTs LShDI KI ThTsDQ UEM-BTsO KI-ThThM DRKIK | ג החפץ לשדי כי תצדק ואם-בצע כי-תתם דרכיך | ||
| 4 Is it for your fear of Him that He reproves you, that He enters with you into judgment? | D AMIREThK IKIChK IBUE OMK BMShFT | ד המיראתך יכיחך יבוא עמך במשפט | ||
| 5 Is not your wickedness great? Are not your iniquities without end? | A ALE ROThK RBA UEIN-QTs LOUNThIK | ה הלא רעתך רבה ואין-קץ לעונתיך | ||
| 6 For you have taken pledges of your brother for nought, and stripped the naked of their clothing. | U KI-ThChBL EChIK ChNM UBGDI ORUMIM ThFShIT | ו כי-תחבל אחיך חנם ובגדי ערומים תפשיט | ||
| 7 You have not given water to the weary to drink, and you have withholden bread from the hungry. | Z LE-MIM OIF ThShQA UMROB ThMNO-LChM | ז לא-מים עיף תשקה ומרעב תמנע-לחם | ||
| 8 As a mighty man, who has the earth, and as a man of rank, who dwells in it, | Ch UEISh ZRUO LU AERTs UNShUE FNIM IShB BA | ח ואיש זרוע לו הארץ ונשוא פנים ישב בה | ||
| 9 You have sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken. | T ELMNUTh ShLChTh RIQM UZROUTh IThMIM IDKE | ט אלמנות שלחת ריקם וזרעות יתמים ידכא | ||
| 10 Therefore snares are round about you, and sudden dread affrighted you, | I OL-KN SBIBUThIK FChIM UIBALK FChD FThEM | י על-כן סביבותיך פחים ויבהלך פחד פתאם | ||
| 11 Or darkness, that you can not see, and abundance of waters cover you. | IE EU-ChShK LE-ThREA UShFOTh-MIM ThKSK | יא או-חשך לא-תראה ושפעת-מים תכסך | ||
| 12 Is not God in the height of heaven? Behold the topmost of the stars, how high they are! | IB ALE-ELUA GBA ShMIM UREA RESh KUKBIM KI-RMU | יב הלא-אלוה גבה שמים וראה ראש כוכבים כי-רמו | ||
| 13 You say: 'What does God know? Can He judge through the dark cloud? | IG UEMRTh MA-IDO EL ABOD ORFL IShFUT | יג ואמרת מה-ידע אל הבעד ערפל ישפוט | ||
| 14 Thick clouds are a covering to Him, that He sees not; and He walks in the circuit of heaven.' | ID OBIM SThR-LU ULE IREA UChUG ShMIM IThALK | יד עבים סתר-לו ולא יראה וחוג שמים יתהלך | ||
| 15 Will you keep the old way which wicked men have trodden? | TU AERCh OULM ThShMUR EShR DRKU MThI-EUN | טו הארח עולם תשמור אשר דרכו מתי-און | ||
| 16 Who were snatched away before their time, whose foundation was poured out as a stream; | TZ EShR-QMTU ULE-OTh NAR IUTsQ ISUDM | טז אשר-קמטו ולא-עת נהר יוצק יסודם | ||
| 17 Who said to God: 'Depart from us'; and what could the Almighty do to them? | IZ AEMRIM LEL SUR MMNU UMA-IFOL ShDI LMU | יז האמרים לאל סור ממנו ומה-יפעל שדי למו | ||
| 18 Yet He filled their houses with good things--but the counsel of the wicked is far from me. | ICh UAUE MLE BThIAM TUB UOTsTh RShOIM RChQA MNI | יח והוא מלא בתיהם טוב ועצת רשעים רחקה מני | ||
| 19 The righteous saw it, and were glad, and the innocent laugh them to scorn: | IT IREU TsDIQIM UIShMChU UNQI ILOG-LMU | יט יראו צדיקים וישמחו ונקי ילעג-למו | ||
| 20 'Surely their substance is cut off, and their abundance the fire has consumed.' | K EM-LE NKChD QIMNU UIThRM EKLA ESh | כ אם-לא נכחד קימנו ויתרם אכלה אש | ||
| 21 Acquaint now yourself with Him, and be at peace; thereby shall your increase be good. | KE ASKN-NE OMU UShLM BAM ThBUEThK TUBA | כא הסכן-נא עמו ושלם בהם תבואתך טובה | ||
| 22 Receive, I pray you, the law from His mouth, and lay up His words in your heart. | KB QCh-NE MFIU ThURA UShIM EMRIU BLBBK | כב קח-נא מפיו תורה ושים אמריו בלבבך | ||
| 23 If you return to the Almighty, you shall be built up--if you put away unrighteousness far from your tents, | KG EM-ThShUB OD-ShDI ThBNA ThRChIQ OULA MEALK | כג אם-תשוב עד-שדי תבנה תרחיק עולה מאהלך | ||
| 24 Lay your treasure in the dust, and the gold of Ophir among the stones of the brooks; | KD UShITh-OL-OFR BTsR UKTsUR NChLIM EUFIR | כד ושית-על-עפר בצר וכצור נחלים אופיר | ||
| 25 The Almighty be your treasure, and precious silver to you; | KA UAIA ShDI BTsRIK UKSF ThUOFUTh LK | כה והיה שדי בצריך וכסף תועפות לך | ||
| 26 Then surely shall you have your delight in the Almighty, and shall lift up your face to God. | KU KI-EZ OL-ShDI ThThONG UThShE EL-ELUA FNIK | כו כי-אז על-שדי תתענג ותשא אל-אלוה פניך | ||
| 27 You shall make your prayer to Him, and He will hear you, and you shall pay your vows; | KZ ThOThIR ELIU UIShMOK UNDRIK ThShLM | כז תעתיר אליו וישמעך ונדריך תשלם | ||
| 28 You shall also decree a thing, and it shall be established to you, and light shall shine on your ways. | KCh UThGZR-EMR UIQM LK UOL-DRKIK NGA EUR | כח ותגזר-אמר ויקם לך ועל-דרכיך נגה אור | ||
| 29 When they cast you down, you shall say: 'There is lifting up'; for the humble person He saves. | KT KI-AShFILU UThEMR GUA UShCh OINIM IUShO | כט כי-השפילו ותאמר גוה ושח עינים יושע | ||
| 30 He delivers him that is innocent, yes, you shall be delivered through the cleanness of your hands. | L IMLT EI-NQI UNMLT BBR KFIK | ל ימלט אי-נקי ונמלט בבר כפיך | ||
