Job's Life Seems Futile
1 Is there not a time of service to man on earth? Are not his days like the days of a hireling? E ALE-TsBE LENUSh OL- (OLI-) ERTs UKIMI ShKIR IMIU א הלא-צבא לאנוש על- (עלי-) ארץ וכימי שכיר ימיו
2 As a servant that eagerly longs for the shadow, and as a hireling that looks for his wages; B KOBD IShEF-TsL UKShKIR IQUA FOLU ב כעבד ישאף-צל וכשכיר יקוה פעלו

13 When I say: 'My bed shall comfort me, my couch shall ease my complaint'; IG KI-EMRThI ThNChMNI ORShI IShE BShIChI MShKBI יג כי-אמרתי תנחמני ערשי ישא בשיחי משכבי
14 Then You scare me with dreams, and terrify me through visions; ID UChThThNI BChLMUTh UMChZINUTh ThBOThNI יד וחתתני בחלמות ומחזינות תבעתני
15 So that my soul chooses strangling, and death rather than these my bones. TU UThBChR MChNQ NFShI MUTh MOTsMUThI טו ותבחר מחנק נפשי מות מעצמותי
16 I loathe it; I shall not live alway; let me alone; for my days are vanity. TZ MESThI LE-LOLM EChIA ChDL MMNI KI-ABL IMI טז מאסתי לא-לעלם אחיה חדל ממני כי-הבל ימי
17 What is man, that You should magnify him, and that You should set Your heart on him, IZ MA-ENUSh KI ThGDLNU UKI-ThShITh ELIU LBK יז מה-אנוש כי תגדלנו וכי-תשית אליו לבך
18 That You should remember him every morning, and try him every moment? ICh UThFQDNU LBQRIM LRGOIM ThBChNNU יח ותפקדנו לבקרים לרגעים תבחננו
