| 2 But I have built You a house of habitation, and a place for You to dwell in for ever. | B UENI BNIThI BITh-ZBL LK UMKUN LShBThK OULMIM | ב ואני בניתי בית-זבל לך ומכון לשבתך עולמים | ||
| 3 The king turned his face, and blessed all the congregation of Israel; and all the congregation of Israel stood. | G UISB AMLK ETh-FNIU UIBRK ETh KL-QAL IShREL UKL-QAL IShREL OUMD | ג ויסב המלך את-פניו ויברך את כל-קהל ישראל וכל-קהל ישראל עומד | ||
| 4 He said: 'Blessed be IAUA, the God of Israel, who spoke with His mouth to David my father, and has with His hands fulfilled it, saying: | D UIEMR BRUK IAUA ELAI IShREL EShR DBR BFIU ETh DUID EBI UBIDIU MLE LEMR | ד ויאמר ברוך יהוה אלהי ישראל אשר דבר בפיו את דויד אבי ובידיו מלא לאמר | ||
| 5 Since the day that I brought forth My people out of the land of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build a house in, that My name might be there; neither chose I any man to be prince over My people Israel; | A MN-AIUM EShR AUTsEThI ETh-OMI MERTs MTsRIM LE-BChRThI BOIR MKL ShBTI IShREL LBNUTh BITh LAIUTh ShMI ShM ULE-BChRThI BEISh LAIUTh NGID OL-OMI IShREL | ה מן-היום אשר הוצאתי את-עמי מארץ מצרים לא-בחרתי בעיר מכל שבטי ישראל לבנות בית להיות שמי שם ולא-בחרתי באיש להיות נגיד על-עמי ישראל | ||
| 6 but I have chosen Jerusalem, that My name might be there; and have chosen David to be over My people Israel. | U UEBChR BIRUShLM LAIUTh ShMI ShM UEBChR BDUID LAIUTh OL-OMI IShREL | ו ואבחר בירושלם להיות שמי שם ואבחר בדויד להיות על-עמי ישראל | ||
| 7 Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of IAUA, the God of Israel. | Z UIAI OM-LBB DUID EBI LBNUTh BITh LShM IAUA ELAI IShREL | ז ויהי עם-לבב דויד אבי לבנות בית לשם יהוה אלהי ישראל | ||
| 8 But IAUA said to David my father: Whereas it was in your heart to build a house for My name, you didst well that it was in your heart; | Ch UIEMR IAUA EL-DUID EBI ION EShR AIA OM-LBBK LBNUTh BITh LShMI ATIBUTh KI AIA OM-LBBK | ח ויאמר יהוה אל-דויד אבי יען אשר היה עם-לבבך לבנות בית לשמי הטיבות כי היה עם-לבבך | ||
| 9 nevertheless you shall not build the house, but your son that shall come forth out of your loins, he shall build the house for My name. | T RQ EThA LE ThBNA ABITh KI BNK AIUTsE MChLTsIK AUE-IBNA ABITh LShMI | ט רק אתה לא תבנה הבית כי בנך היוצא מחלציך הוא-יבנה הבית לשמי | ||
| 10 IAUA has established His word that He spoke; for I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as IAUA promised, and have built the house for the name of IAUA, the God of Israel. | I UIQM IAUA ETh-DBRU EShR DBR UEQUM ThChTh DUID EBI UEShB OL-KSE IShREL KEShR DBR IAUA UEBNA ABITh LShM IAUA ELAI IShREL | י ויקם יהוה את-דברו אשר דבר ואקום תחת דויד אבי ואשב על-כסא ישראל כאשר דבר יהוה ואבנה הבית לשם יהוה אלהי ישראל | ||
| 11 There have I set the ark, wherein is the covenant of IAUA, which He made with the children of Israel.' | IE UEShIM ShM ETh-AERUN EShR-ShM BRITh IAUA EShR KRTh OM-BNI IShREL | יא ואשים שם את-הארון אשר-שם ברית יהוה אשר כרת עם-בני ישראל | ||
| 12 He stood before the altar of IAUA in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands-- | IB UIOMD LFNI MZBCh IAUA NGD KL-QAL IShREL UIFRSh KFIU | יב ויעמד לפני מזבח יהוה נגד כל-קהל ישראל ויפרש כפיו | ||
| 13 for Solomon had made a brazen scaffold, of five cubits long, and five cubits broad, and three cubits high, and had set it in the middle of the court; and on it he stood, and kneeled down on his knees before all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven-- | IG KI-OShA ShLMA KIUR NChShTh UIThNAU BThUK AOZRA ChMSh EMUTh ERKU UChMSh EMUTh RChBU UEMUTh ShLUSh QUMThU UIOMD OLIU UIBRK OL-BRKIU NGD KL-QAL IShREL UIFRSh KFIU AShMIMA | יג כי-עשה שלמה כיור נחשת ויתנהו בתוך העזרה חמש אמות ארכו וחמש אמות רחבו ואמות שלוש קומתו ויעמד עליו ויברך על-ברכיו נגד כל-קהל ישראל ויפרש כפיו השמימה | ||
| 14 and he said: 'O IAUA, the God of Israel, there is no God like You, in the heaven, or in the earth; who keep covenant and mercy with Your servants, that walk before You with all their heart; | ID UIEMR IAUA ELAI IShREL EIN-KMUK ELAIM BShMIM UBERTs ShMR ABRITh UAChSD LOBDIK AALKIM LFNIK BKL-LBM | יד ויאמר יהוה אלהי ישראל אין-כמוך אלהים בשמים ובארץ שמר הברית והחסד לעבדיך ההלכים לפניך בכל-לבם | ||
| 15 who have kept with Your servant David my father that which You didst promise him; yes, You spoke with Your mouth, and have fulfilled it with Your hand, as it is this day. | TU EShR ShMRTh LOBDK DUID EBI ETh EShR-DBRTh LU UThDBR BFIK UBIDK MLETh KIUM AZA | טו אשר שמרת לעבדך דויד אבי את אשר-דברת לו ותדבר בפיך ובידך מלאת כיום הזה | ||

| 17 Now therefore, O IAUA, the God of Israel, let Your word be verified, which You spoke to Your servant David. | IZ UOThA IAUA ELAI IShREL IEMN DBRK EShR DBRTh LOBDK LDUID | יז ועתה יהוה אלהי ישראל יאמן דברך אשר דברת לעבדך לדויד | ||
| 18 But will God in very truth dwell with men on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain You; how much less this house which I have builded! | ICh KI AEMNM IShB ELAIM ETh-AEDM OL-AERTs ANA ShMIM UShMI AShMIM LE IKLKLUK EF KI-ABITh AZA EShR BNIThI | יח כי האמנם ישב אלהים את-האדם על-הארץ הנה שמים ושמי השמים לא יכלכלוך אף כי-הבית הזה אשר בניתי | ||
| 19 Yet have You respect to the prayer of Your servant, and to his supplication, O IAUA my God, to hearken to the cry and to the prayer which Your servant prays before You; | IT UFNITh EL-ThFLTh OBDK UEL-ThChNThU IAUA ELAI LShMO EL-ARNA UEL-AThFLA EShR OBDK MThFLL LFNIK | יט ופנית אל-תפלת עבדך ואל-תחנתו יהוה אלהי לשמע אל-הרנה ואל-התפלה אשר עבדך מתפלל לפניך | ||
| 20 that Your eyes may be open toward this house day and night, even toward the place whereof You have said that you would put Your name there; to hearken to the prayer which Your servant shall pray toward this place. | K LAIUTh OINIK FThChUTh EL-ABITh AZA IUMM ULILA EL-AMQUM EShR EMRTh LShUM ShMK ShM LShMUO EL-AThFLA EShR IThFLL OBDK EL-AMQUM AZA | כ להיות עיניך פתחות אל-הבית הזה יומם ולילה אל-המקום אשר אמרת לשום שמך שם לשמוע אל-התפלה אשר יתפלל עבדך אל-המקום הזה | ||
| 21 Hearken You to the supplications of Your servant, and of Your people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place; yes, hear You from Your dwelling-place, even from heaven; and when You hear, forgive. | KE UShMOTh EL-ThChNUNI OBDK UOMK IShREL EShR IThFLLU EL-AMQUM AZA UEThA ThShMO MMQUM ShBThK MN-AShMIM UShMOTh USLChTh | כא ושמעת אל-תחנוני עבדך ועמך ישראל אשר יתפללו אל-המקום הזה ואתה תשמע ממקום שבתך מן-השמים ושמעת וסלחת | ||
| 22 If a man sin against his neighbor, and an oath be exacted of him to cause him to swear, and he come and swear before Your altar in this house; | KB EM-IChTE EISh LROAU UNShE-BU ELA LAELThU UBE ELA LFNI MZBChK BBITh AZA | כב אם-יחטא איש לרעהו ונשא-בו אלה להאלתו ובא אלה לפני מזבחך בבית הזה | ||
| 23 then hear You from heaven, and do, and judge Your servants, requiting the wicked, to bring his way on his own head; and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness. | KG UEThA ThShMO MN-AShMIM UOShITh UShFTTh ETh-OBDIK LAShIB LRShO LThTh DRKU BREShU ULATsDIQ TsDIQ LThTh LU KTsDQThU | כג ואתה תשמע מן-השמים ועשית ושפטת את-עבדיך להשיב לרשע לתת דרכו בראשו ולהצדיק צדיק לתת לו כצדקתו | ||
| 24 If Your people Israel be smitten down before the enemy, when they sin against You, and shall turn again and confess Your name, and pray and make supplication before You in this house; | KD UEM-INGF OMK IShREL LFNI EUIB KI IChTEU-LK UShBU UAUDU ETh-ShMK UAThFLLU UAThChNNU LFNIK BBITh AZA | כד ואם-ינגף עמך ישראל לפני אויב כי יחטאו-לך ושבו והודו את-שמך והתפללו והתחננו לפניך בבית הזה | ||
| 25 then hear You from heaven, and forgive the sin of Your people Israel, and bring them back to the land which You gave to them and to their fathers. | KA UEThA ThShMO MN-AShMIM USLChTh LChTETh OMK IShREL UAShIBUThM EL-AEDMA EShR-NThThA LAM ULEBThIAM | כה ואתה תשמע מן-השמים וסלחת לחטאת עמך ישראל והשיבותם אל-האדמה אשר-נתתה להם ולאבתיהם | ||
| 26 When the heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, when they sin against You; if they pray toward this place, and confess Your name, turning from their sin, when You dost afflict them; | KU BAOTsR AShMIM ULE-IAIA MTR KI IChTEU-LK UAThFLLU EL-AMQUM AZA UAUDU ETh-ShMK MChTEThM IShUBUN KI ThONM | כו בהעצר השמים ולא-יהיה מטר כי יחטאו-לך והתפללו אל-המקום הזה והודו את-שמך מחטאתם ישובון כי תענם | ||
| 27 then hear You in heaven, and forgive the sin of Your servants, and of Your people Israel, when You dost direct them on the good way wherein they should walk; and send rain on Your land, which You have given to Your people for an inheritance. | KZ UEThA ThShMO AShMIM USLChTh LChTETh OBDIK UOMK IShREL KI ThURM EL-ADRK ATUBA EShR ILKU-BA UNThThA MTR OL-ERTsK EShR-NThThA LOMK LNChLA | כז ואתה תשמע השמים וסלחת לחטאת עבדיך ועמך ישראל כי תורם אל-הדרך הטובה אשר ילכו-בה ונתתה מטר על-ארצך אשר-נתתה לעמך לנחלה | ||
| 28 If there be in the land famine, if there be pestilence, if there be blasting or mildew, locust or caterpillar; if their enemies besiege them in the land of their cities; whatsoever plague or whatsoever sickness there be; | KCh ROB KI-IAIA BERTs DBR KI-IAIA ShDFUN UIRQUN ERBA UChSIL KI IAIA KI ITsR-LU EIBIU BERTs ShORIU KL-NGO UKL-MChLA | כח רעב כי-יהיה בארץ דבר כי-יהיה שדפון וירקון ארבה וחסיל כי יהיה כי יצר-לו איביו בארץ שעריו כל-נגע וכל-מחלה | ||
| 29 what prayer and supplication soever be made by any man, or by all Your people Israel, who shall know every man his own plague and his own pain, and shall spread forth his hands toward this house; | KT KL-ThFLA KL-ThChNA EShR IAIA LKL-AEDM ULKL OMK IShREL EShR IDOU EISh NGOU UMKEBU UFRSh KFIU EL-ABITh AZA | כט כל-תפלה כל-תחנה אשר יהיה לכל-האדם ולכל עמך ישראל אשר ידעו איש נגעו ומכאבו ופרש כפיו אל-הבית הזה | ||
| 30 then hear You from heaven Your dwelling-place, and forgive, and render to every man according to all his ways, whose heart You know--for You, even You only, know the hearts of the children of men-- | L UEThA ThShMO MN-AShMIM MKUN ShBThK USLChTh UNThThA LEISh KKL-DRKIU EShR ThDO ETh-LBBU KI EThA LBDK IDOTh ETh-LBB BNI AEDM | ל ואתה תשמע מן-השמים מכון שבתך וסלחת ונתתה לאיש ככל-דרכיו אשר תדע את-לבבו כי אתה לבדך ידעת את-לבב בני האדם | ||

| 32 Moreover concerning the stranger, that is not of Your people Israel, when be shall come out of a far country for Your great name's sake, and Your mighty hand, and Your outstretched arm; when they shall come and pray toward this house; | LB UGM EL-ANKRI EShR LE MOMK IShREL AUE UBE MERTs RChUQA LMON ShMK AGDUL UIDK AChZQA UZRUOK ANTUIA UBEU UAThFLLU EL-ABITh AZA | לב וגם אל-הנכרי אשר לא מעמך ישראל הוא ובא מארץ רחוקה למען שמך הגדול וידך החזקה וזרועך הנטויה ובאו והתפללו אל-הבית הזה | ||

| 35 then hear You from heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause. | LA UShMOTh MN-AShMIM ETh-ThFLThM UETh-ThChNThM UOShITh MShFTM | לה ושמעת מן-השמים את-תפלתם ואת-תחנתם ועשית משפטם | ||

| 37 yet if they shall bethink themselves in the land whither they are carried captive, and turn, and make supplication to You in the land of their captivity, saying: We have sinned, we have done iniquitously, and have dealt wickedly; | LZ UAShIBU EL-LBBM BERTs EShR NShBU-ShM UShBU UAThChNNU ELIK BERTs ShBIM LEMR ChTENU AOUINU URShONU | לז והשיבו אל-לבבם בארץ אשר נשבו-שם ושבו והתחננו אליך בארץ שבים לאמר חטאנו העוינו ורשענו | ||
| 38 if they return to You with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity, whither they have carried them captive, and pray toward their land, which You gave to their fathers, and the city which You have chosen, and toward the house which I have built for Your name; | LCh UShBU ELIK BKL-LBM UBKL-NFShM BERTs ShBIM EShR-ShBU EThM UAThFLLU DRK ERTsM EShR NThThA LEBUThM UAOIR EShR BChRTh ULBITh EShR-BNIThI LShMK | לח ושבו אליך בכל-לבם ובכל-נפשם בארץ שבים אשר-שבו אתם והתפללו דרך ארצם אשר נתתה לאבותם והעיר אשר בחרת ולבית אשר-בניתי לשמך | ||

| 41 Now therefore arise, O IAUA God, into Your resting-place, You, and the ark of Your strength; let Your priests, O IAUA God, be clothed with salvation, and let Your saints rejoice in good. | ME UOThA QUMA IAUA ELAIM LNUChK EThA UERUN OZK KANIK IAUA ELAIM ILBShU ThShUOA UChSIDIK IShMChU BTUB | מא ועתה קומה יהוה אלהים לנוחך אתה וארון עזך כהניך יהוה אלהים ילבשו תשועה וחסידיך ישמחו בטוב | ||
