The Philistines Mistrust David | ||||

| 3 Then said the princes of the Philistines: 'What do these Hebrews here?' | 4 But the princes of the Philistines were wroth with him; and the princes of the Philistines said to him: 'Make the man return, that he may go back to his place where you have appointed him, and let him not go down with us to battle, unless in the battle he become an adversary to us; for wherewith should this fellow reconcile himself to his lord? should it not be with the heads of these men? | D UIQTsFU OLIU ShRI FLShThIM UIEMRU LU ShRI FLShThIM AShB ETh-AEISh UIShB EL-MQUMU EShR AFQDThU ShM ULE-IRD OMNU BMLChMA ULE-IAIA-LNU LShTN BMLChMA UBMA IThRTsA ZA EL-EDNIU ALUE BREShI AENShIM AAM | ד ויקצפו עליו שרי פלשתים ויאמרו לו שרי פלשתים השב את-האיש וישב אל-מקומו אשר הפקדתו שם ולא-ירד עמנו במלחמה ולא-יהיה-לנו לשטן במלחמה ובמה יתרצה זה אל-אדניו הלוא בראשי האנשים ההם | ||

| 6 Then Achish called David, and said to him: 'As IAUA lives, you have been upright, and your going out and your coming in with me in the host is good in my sight; for I have not found evil in you since the day of your coming to me to this day; nevertheless the lords favour you not. | U UIQRE EKISh EL-DUD UIEMR ELIU ChI-IAUA KI-IShR EThA UTUB BOINI TsEThK UBEK EThI BMChNA KI LE-MTsEThI BK ROA MIUM BEK ELI OD-AIUM AZA UBOINI ASRNIM LE-TUB EThA | ו ויקרא אכיש אל-דוד ויאמר אליו חי-יהוה כי-ישר אתה וטוב בעיני צאתך ובאך אתי במחנה כי לא-מצאתי בך רעה מיום באך אלי עד-היום הזה ובעיני הסרנים לא-טוב אתה | ||
| 7 Wherefore now return, and go in peace, that you displease not the lords of the Philistines.' | Z UOThA ShUB ULK BShLUM ULE-ThOShA RO BOINI SRNI FLShThIM | ז ועתה שוב ולך בשלום ולא-תעשה רע בעיני סרני פלשתים | ||
| 8 David said to Achish: 'But what have I done? and what have you found in your servant so long as I have been before you to this day, that I may not go and fight against the enemies of my lord the king?' | Ch UIEMR DUD EL-EKISh KI MA OShIThI UMA-MTsETh BOBDK MIUM EShR AIIThI LFNIK OD AIUM AZA KI LE EBUE UNLChMThI BEIBI EDNI AMLK | ח ויאמר דוד אל-אכיש כי מה עשיתי ומה-מצאת בעבדך מיום אשר הייתי לפניך עד היום הזה כי לא אבוא ונלחמתי באיבי אדני המלך | ||
| 9 Achish answered and said to David: 'I know that you are good in my sight, as an angel of God; notwithstanding the princes of the Philistines have said: He shall not go up with us to the battle. | T UION EKISh UIEMR EL-DUD IDOThI KI TUB EThA BOINI KMLEK ELAIM EK ShRI FLShThIM EMRU LE-IOLA OMNU BMLChMA | ט ויען אכיש ויאמר אל-דוד ידעתי כי טוב אתה בעיני כמלאך אלהים אך שרי פלשתים אמרו לא-יעלה עמנו במלחמה | ||
| 10 Wherefore now rise up early in the morning with the servants of your lord that are come with you; and as soon as you are up early in the morning, and have light, depart.' | I UOThA AShKM BBQR UOBDI EDNIK EShR-BEU EThK UAShKMThM BBQR UEUR LKM ULKU | י ועתה השכם בבקר ועבדי אדניך אשר-באו אתך והשכמתם בבקר ואור לכם ולכו | ||
| 11 So David rose up early, he and his men, to depart in the morning, to return into the land of the Philistines.
