| 1 Samuel died; and all Israel gathered themselves together, and lamented him, and buried him in his house at Ramah. | 5 David sent ten young men, and David said to the young men: 'Get you up to Carmel, and go to Nabal, and greet him in my name; | A UIShLCh DUD OShRA NORIM UIEMR DUD LNORIM OLU KRMLA UBEThM EL-NBL UShELThM-LU BShMI LShLUM | ה וישלח דוד עשרה נערים ויאמר דוד לנערים עלו כרמלה ובאתם אל-נבל ושאלתם-לו בשמי לשלום | ||

| 13 David said to his men: 'Gird you on every man his sword.' | 30 It shall come to pass, when IAUA shall have done to my lord according to all the good that He has spoken concerning you, and shall have appointed you prince over Israel; | L UAIA KI-IOShA IAUA LEDNI KKL EShR-DBR ETh-ATUBA OLIK UTsUK LNGID OL-IShREL | ל והיה כי-יעשה יהוה לאדני ככל אשר-דבר את-הטובה עליך וצוך לנגיד על-ישראל | ||
| 31 that this shall be no stumbling-block to you, nor offence of heart to my lord, either that you have shed blood without cause, or that my lord has found redress for himself. | 39 When David heard that Nabal was dead, he said: 'Blessed be IAUA, that has pleaded the cause of my reproach from the hand of Nabal, and has kept back His servant from evil; and the evil-doing of Nabal has IAUA returned on his own head.'
