Israel Multiplies in Egypt | ||

| 3 Issachar, Zebulun, and Benjamin; | G IShShKR ZBULN UBNIMN | ג יששכר זבולן ובנימן |
| 4 Dan and Naphtali, Gad and Asher. | D DN UNFThLI GD UEShR | ד דן ונפתלי גד ואשר |

| 9 He said unto his people: 'Behold, the people of the children of Israel are too many and too mighty for us; | T UIEMR EL OMU ANA OM BNI IShREL RB UOTsUM MMNU | ט ויאמר אל עמו הנה עם בני ישראל רב ועצום ממנו |
| 10 come, let us deal wisely with them, unless they increase, and it come to pass, that, when there befalls us any war, they also join themselves unto our enemies, and fight against us, and get them up out of the land.' | I ABA NThChKMA LU FN IRBA UAIA KI ThQRENA MLChMA UNUSF GM AUE OL ShNEINU UNLChM BNU UOLA MN AERTs | י הבה נתחכמה לו פן ירבה והיה כי תקראנה מלחמה ונוסף גם הוא על שנאינו ונלחם בנו ועלה מן הארץ |
| 11 Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens. | 14 They made their lives bitter with hard service, in mortar and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field; in all their service, wherein they made them serve with rigor. | ID UIMRRU ETh ChIIAM BOBDA QShA BChMR UBLBNIM UBKL OBDA BShDA ETh KL OBDThM EShR OBDU BAM BFRK | יד וימררו את חייהם בעבדה קשה בחמר ובלבנים ובכל עבדה בשדה את כל עבדתם אשר עבדו בהם בפרך |
| 15 The king of Egypt spoke to the Hebrew midwives, of whom the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah; | TU UIEMR MLK MTsRIM LMILDTh AOBRITh EShR ShM AEChTh ShFRA UShM AShNITh FUOA | טו ויאמר מלך מצרים למילדת העברית אשר שם האחת שפרה ושם השנית פועה |

| 18 The king of Egypt called for the midwives, and said unto them: 'Why have you done this thing, and have saved the men-children alive?' | ICh UIQRE MLK MTsRIM LMILDTh UIEMR LAN MDUO OShIThN ADBR AZA UThChIIN ETh AILDIM | יח ויקרא מלך מצרים למילדת ויאמר להן מדוע עשיתן הדבר הזה ותחיין את הילדים |
| 19 The midwives said unto Pharaoh: 'Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women; for they are lively, and are delivered ere the midwife come unto them.' | IT UThEMRN AMILDTh EL FROA KI LE KNShIM AMTsRITh AOBRITh KI ChIUTh ANA BTRM ThBUE ELAN AMILDTh UILDU | יט ותאמרן המילדת אל פרעה כי לא כנשים המצרית העברית כי חיות הנה בטרם תבוא אלהן המילדת וילדו |
