Moses on Sinai
1 In the third month after the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai. E BChDSh AShLIShI LTsETh BNI IShREL MERTs MTsRIM BIUM AZA BEU MDBR SINI א בחדש השלישי לצאת בני ישראל מארץ מצרים ביום הזה באו מדבר סיני
2 When they were departed from Rephidim, and were come to the wilderness of Sinai, they encamped in the wilderness; and there Israel encamped before the mount. B UISOU MRFIDIM UIBEU MDBR SINI UIChNU BMDBR UIChN ShM IShREL NGD AAR ב ויסעו מרפידים ויבאו מדבר סיני ויחנו במדבר ויחן שם ישראל נגד ההר
3 Moses went up unto God, and IAUA called unto him out of the mountain, saying: 'Thus shall you say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel: G UMShA OLA EL AELAIM UIQRE ELIU IAUA MN AAR LEMR KA ThEMR LBITh IOQB UThGID LBNI IShREL ג ומשה עלה אל האלהים ויקרא אליו יהוה מן ההר לאמר כה תאמר לבית יעקב ותגיד לבני ישראל
4 You have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto Myself. D EThM REIThM EShR OShIThI LMTsRIM UEShE EThKM OL KNFI NShRIM UEBE EThKM ELI ד אתם ראיתם אשר עשיתי למצרים ואשא אתכם על כנפי נשרים ואבא אתכם אלי
5 Now therefore, if you will hearken unto My voice indeed, and keep My covenant, then you shall be Mine own treasure from among all peoples; for all the earth is Mine; A UOThA EM ShMUO ThShMOU BQLI UShMRThM ETh BRIThI UAIIThM LI SGLA MKL AOMIM KI LI KL AERTs ה ועתה אם שמוע תשמעו בקלי ושמרתם את בריתי והייתם לי סגלה מכל העמים כי לי כל הארץ
6 and you shall be unto Me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation. These are the words which you shall speak unto the children of Israel.' U UEThM ThAIU LI MMLKTh KANIM UGUI QDUSh ELA ADBRIM EShR ThDBR EL BNI IShREL ו ואתם תהיו לי ממלכת כהנים וגוי קדוש אלה הדברים אשר תדבר אל בני ישראל
7 Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and set before them all these words which IAUA commanded him. Z UIBE MShA UIQRE LZQNI AOM UIShM LFNIAM ETh KL ADBRIM AELA EShR TsUAU IAUA ז ויבא משה ויקרא לזקני העם וישם לפניהם את כל הדברים האלה אשר צוהו יהוה
8 All the people answered together, and said: 'All that IAUA has spoken we will do.' Moses reported the words of the people unto IAUA. Ch UIONU KL AOM IChDU UIEMRU KL EShR DBR IAUA NOShA UIShB MShA ETh DBRI AOM EL IAUA ח ויענו כל העם יחדו ויאמרו כל אשר דבר יהוה נעשה וישב משה את דברי העם אל יהוה
9 IAUA said unto Moses: 'Lo, I come unto you in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you, and may also believe you for ever.' Moses told the words of the people unto IAUA. T UIEMR IAUA EL MShA ANA ENKI BE ELIK BOB AONN BOBUR IShMO AOM BDBRI OMK UGM BK IEMINU LOULM UIGD MShA ETh DBRI AOM EL IAUA ט ויאמר יהוה אל משה הנה אנכי בא אליך בעב הענן בעבור ישמע העם בדברי עמך וגם בך יאמינו לעולם ויגד משה את דברי העם אל יהוה
10 IAUA said unto Moses: 'Go unto the people, and sanctify them to-day and to-morrow, and let them wash their garments, I UIEMR IAUA EL MShA LK EL AOM UQDShThM AIUM UMChR UKBSU ShMLThM י ויאמר יהוה אל משה לך אל העם וקדשתם היום ומחר וכבסו שמלתם
11 and be ready against the third day; for the third day IAUA will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai. IE UAIU NKNIM LIUM AShLIShI KI BIUM AShLShI IRD IAUA LOINI KL AOM OL AR SINI יא והיו נכנים ליום השלישי כי ביום השלשי ירד יהוה לעיני כל העם על הר סיני
12 You shall set bounds unto the people round about, saying: Take heed to yourselves, that you go not up into the mount, or touch the border of it; whosoever touches the mount shall be surely put to death; IB UAGBLTh ETh AOM SBIB LEMR AShMRU LKM OLUTh BAR UNGO BQTsAU KL ANGO BAR MUTh IUMTh יב והגבלת את העם סביב לאמר השמרו לכם עלות בהר ונגע בקצהו כל הנגע בהר מות יומת
13 no hand shall touch him, but he shall surely be stoned, or shot through; whether it be beast or man, it shall not live; when the ram's horn sounds long, they shall come up to the mount.' 14 Moses went down from the mount unto the people, and sanctified the people; and they washed their garments. ID UIRD MShA MN AAR EL AOM UIQDSh ETh AOM UIKBSU ShMLThM יד וירד משה מן ההר אל העם ויקדש את העם ויכבסו שמלתם
15 He said unto the people: 'Be ready against the third day; come not near a woman.' TU UIEMR EL AOM AIU NKNIM LShLShTh IMIM EL ThGShU EL EShA טו ויאמר אל העם היו נכנים לשלשת ימים אל תגשו אל אשה
16 It came to pass on the third day, when it was morning, that there were thunders and lightning and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of a horn exceeding loud; and all the people that were in the camp trembled. TZ UIAI BIUM AShLIShI BAITh ABQR UIAI QLTh UBRQIM UONN KBD OL AAR UQL ShFR ChZQ MED UIChRD KL AOM EShR BMChNA טז ויהי ביום השלישי בהית הבקר ויהי קלת וברקים וענן כבד על ההר וקל שפר חזק מאד ויחרד כל העם אשר במחנה
17 Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet God; and they stood at the nether part of the mount. IZ UIUTsE MShA ETh AOM LQRETh AELAIM MN AMChNA UIThITsBU BThChThITh AAR יז ויוצא משה את העם לקראת האלהים מן המחנה ויתיצבו בתחתית ההר
18 Now mount Sinai was altogether on smoke, because IAUA descended upon it in fire; and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly. ICh UAR SINI OShN KLU MFNI EShR IRD OLIU IAUA BESh UIOL OShNU KOShN AKBShN UIChRD KL AAR MED יח והר סיני עשן כלו מפני אשר ירד עליו יהוה באש ויעל עשנו כעשן הכבשן ויחרד כל ההר מאד
19 When the voice of the horn waxed louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him by a voice. IT UIAI QUL AShFR AULK UChZQ MED MShA IDBR UAELAIM IONNU BQUL יט ויהי קול השפר הולך וחזק מאד משה ידבר והאלהים יעננו בקול
20 IAUA came down upon mount Sinai, to the top of the mount; and IAUA called Moses to the top of the mount; and Moses went up. K UIRD IAUA OL AR SINI EL RESh AAR UIQRE IAUA LMShA EL RESh AAR UIOL MShA כ וירד יהוה על הר סיני אל ראש ההר ויקרא יהוה למשה אל ראש ההר ויעל משה
21 IAUA said unto Moses: 'Go down, charge the people, unless they break through unto IAUA to gaze, and many of them perish. KE UIEMR IAUA EL MShA RD AOD BOM FN IARSU EL IAUA LREUTh UNFL MMNU RB כא ויאמר יהוה אל משה רד העד בעם פן יהרסו אל יהוה לראות ונפל ממנו רב
22 Let the priests also, that come near to IAUA, sanctify themselves, unless IAUA break forth upon them.' KB UGM AKANIM ANGShIM EL IAUA IThQDShU FN IFRTs BAM IAUA כב וגם הכהנים הנגשים אל יהוה יתקדשו פן יפרץ בהם יהוה
23 Moses said unto IAUA: 'The people cannot come up to mount Sinai; for you didst charge us, saying: Set bounds about the mount, and sanctify it.' KG UIEMR MShA EL IAUA LE IUKL AOM LOLTh EL AR SINI KI EThA AODThA BNU LEMR AGBL ETh AAR UQDShThU כג ויאמר משה אל יהוה לא יוכל העם לעלת אל הר סיני כי אתה העדתה בנו לאמר הגבל את ההר וקדשתו
24 IAUA said unto him: 'Go, get you down, and you shall come up, you, and Aaron with you; but let not the priests and the people break through to come up unto IAUA, unless He break forth upon them.' KD UIEMR ELIU IAUA LK RD UOLITh EThA UEARN OMK UAKANIM UAOM EL IARSU LOLTh EL IAUA FN IFRTs BM כד ויאמר אליו יהוה לך רד ועלית אתה ואהרן עמך והכהנים והעם אל יהרסו לעלת אל יהוה פן יפרץ בם
25 So Moses went down unto the people, and told them. {S} KA UIRD MShA EL AOM UIEMR ELAM {S} כה וירד משה אל העם ויאמר אלהם {ס}

Moses on Sinai

9 IAUA said unto Moses: 'Lo, I come unto you in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you, and may also believe you for ever.' Moses told the words of the people unto IAUA. 10 IAUA said unto Moses: 'Go unto the people, and sanctify them to-day and to-morrow, and let them wash their garments,	I UIEMR IAUA EL MShA LK EL AOM UQDShThM AIUM UMChR UKBSU ShMLThM	י ויאמר יהוה אל משה לך אל העם וקדשתם היום ומחר וכבסו שמלתם

24 IAUA said unto him: 'Go, get you down, and you shall come up, you, and Aaron with you; but let not the priests and the people break through to come up unto IAUA, unless He break forth upon them.'
