| 1 In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, came this word from IAUA, saying: | E BREShITh MMLKUTh IAUIQIM BN-IEShIAU MLK IAUDA AIA ADBR AZA METh IAUA LEMR | א בראשית ממלכות יהויקים בן-יאשיהו מלך יהודה היה הדבר הזה מאת יהוה לאמר | ||
| 2 'Thus says IAUA: Stand in the court of IAUA's house, and speak to all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in IAUA's house, all the words that I command you to speak to them; diminish not a word. | B KA EMR IAUA OMD BChTsR BITh-IAUA UDBRTh OL-KL-ORI IAUDA ABEIM LAShThChUTh BITh-IAUA ETh KL-ADBRIM EShR TsUIThIK LDBR ELIAM EL-ThGRO DBR | ב כה אמר יהוה עמד בחצר בית-יהוה ודברת על-כל-ערי יהודה הבאים להשתחות בית-יהוה את כל-הדברים אשר צויתיך לדבר אליהם אל-תגרע דבר | ||
| 3 It may be they will hearken, and turn every man from his evil way; that I may repent Me of the evil, which I purpose to do to them because of the evil of their doings. | G EULI IShMOU UIShBU EISh MDRKU AROA UNChMThI EL-AROA EShR ENKI ChShB LOShUTh LAM MFNI RO MOLLIAM | ג אולי ישמעו וישבו איש מדרכו הרעה ונחמתי אל-הרעה אשר אנכי חשב לעשות להם מפני רע מעלליהם | ||
| 4 You shall say to them: Thus says IAUA: If you will not hearken to Me, to walk in My law, which I have set before you, | D UEMRTh ELIAM KA EMR IAUA EM-LE ThShMOU ELI LLKTh BThURThI EShR NThThI LFNIKM | ד ואמרת אליהם כה אמר יהוה אם-לא תשמעו אלי ללכת בתורתי אשר נתתי לפניכם | ||
| 5 to hearken to the words of My servants the prophets, whom I send to you, even sending them betimes and often, but you have not hearkened; | A LShMO OL-DBRI OBDI ANBEIM EShR ENKI ShLCh ELIKM UAShKM UShLCh ULE ShMOThM | ה לשמע על-דברי עבדי הנבאים אשר אנכי שלח אליכם והשכם ושלח ולא שמעתם | ||
| 6 then will I make this house like Shiloh, and will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth.' | U UNThThI ETh-ABITh AZA KShLA UETh-AOIR AZEThA (AZETh) EThN LQLLA LKL GUI AERTs | ו ונתתי את-הבית הזה כשלה ואת-העיר הזאתה (הזאת) אתן לקללה לכל גוי הארץ | ||
| 7 So the priests and the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of IAUA. | Z UIShMOU AKANIM UANBEIM UKL-AOM ETh-IRMIAU MDBR ETh-ADBRIM AELA BBITh IAUA | ז וישמעו הכהנים והנבאים וכל-העם את-ירמיהו מדבר את-הדברים האלה בבית יהוה | ||
| 8 Now it came to pass, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking all that IAUA had commanded him to speak to all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people laid hold on him, saying: 'You shall surely die. | Ch UIAI KKLUTh IRMIAU LDBR ETh KL-EShR-TsUA IAUA LDBR EL-KL-AOM UIThFShU EThU AKANIM UANBIEIM UKL-AOM LEMR MUTh ThMUTh | ח ויהי ככלות ירמיהו לדבר את כל-אשר-צוה יהוה לדבר אל-כל-העם ויתפשו אתו הכהנים והנביאים וכל-העם לאמר מות תמות | ||
| 9 Why have you prophesied in the name of IAUA, saying: This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate, without an inhabitant?' All the people were gathered against Jeremiah in the house of IAUA. | T MDUO NBITh BShM-IAUA LEMR KShLU IAIA ABITh AZA UAOIR AZETh ThChRB MEIN IUShB UIQAL KL-AOM EL-IRMIAU BBITh IAUA | ט מדוע נבית בשם-יהוה לאמר כשלו יהיה הבית הזה והעיר הזאת תחרב מאין יושב ויקהל כל-העם אל-ירמיהו בבית יהוה | ||
| 10 When the princes of Judah heard these things, they came up from the king's house to the house of IAUA; and they sat in the entry of the new gate of IAUA's house. | I UIShMOU ShRI IAUDA ETh ADBRIM AELA UIOLU MBITh-AMLK BITh IAUA UIShBU BFThCh ShOR-IAUA AChDSh | י וישמעו שרי יהודה את הדברים האלה ויעלו מבית-המלך בית יהוה וישבו בפתח שער-יהוה החדש | ||
| 11 Then spoke the priests and the prophets to the princes and to all the people, saying: 'This man is worthy of death; for he has prophesied against this city, as you have heard with your ears.' | IE UIEMRU AKANIM UANBEIM EL-AShRIM UEL-KL-AOM LEMR MShFT-MUTh LEISh AZA KI NBE EL-AOIR AZETh KEShR ShMOThM BEZNIKM | יא ויאמרו הכהנים והנבאים אל-השרים ואל-כל-העם לאמר משפט-מות לאיש הזה כי נבא אל-העיר הזאת כאשר שמעתם באזניכם | ||
| 12 Then spoke Jeremiah to all the princes and to all the people, saying: 'IAUA sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city all the words that you have heard. | IB UIEMR IRMIAU EL-KL-AShRIM UEL-KL-AOM LEMR IAUA ShLChNI LANBE EL-ABITh AZA UEL-AOIR AZETh ETh KL-ADBRIM EShR ShMOThM | יב ויאמר ירמיהו אל-כל-השרים ואל-כל-העם לאמר יהוה שלחני להנבא אל-הבית הזה ואל-העיר הזאת את כל-הדברים אשר שמעתם | ||
| 13 Therefore now amend your ways and your doings, and hearken to the voice of IAUA your God; and IAUA will repent Him of the evil that He has pronounced against you. | IG UOThA AITIBU DRKIKM UMOLLIKM UShMOU BQUL IAUA ELAIKM UINChM IAUA EL-AROA EShR DBR OLIKM | יג ועתה היטיבו דרכיכם ומעלליכם ושמעו בקול יהוה אלהיכם וינחם יהוה אל-הרעה אשר דבר עליכם | ||
| 14 But as for me, behold, I am in your hand; do with me as is good and right in your eyes. | ID UENI ANNI BIDKM OShU-LI KTUB UKIShR BOINIKM | יד ואני הנני בידכם עשו-לי כטוב וכישר בעיניכם | ||
| 15 Only know you for certain that, if you put me to death, you will bring innocent blood on yourselves, and on this city, and on the inhabitants thereof; for of a truth IAUA has sent me to you to speak all these words in your ears.' | TU EK IDO ThDOU KI EM-MMThIM EThM EThI KI-DM NQI EThM NThNIM OLIKM UEL-AOIR AZETh UEL-IShBIA KI BEMTh ShLChNI IAUA OLIKM LDBR BEZNIKM ETh KL-ADBRIM AELA | טו אך ידע תדעו כי אם-ממתים אתם אתי כי-דם נקי אתם נתנים עליכם ואל-העיר הזאת ואל-ישביה כי באמת שלחני יהוה עליכם לדבר באזניכם את כל-הדברים האלה | ||
| 16 Then said the princes and all the people to the priests and to the prophets: 'This man is not worthy of death; for he has spoken to us in the name of IAUA our God.' | TZ UIEMRU AShRIM UKL-AOM EL-AKANIM UEL-ANBIEIM EIN-LEISh AZA MShFT-MUTh KI BShM IAUA ELAINU DBR ELINU | טז ויאמרו השרים וכל-העם אל-הכהנים ואל-הנביאים אין-לאיש הזה משפט-מות כי בשם יהוה אלהינו דבר אלינו | ||
| 17 Then rose up certain of the elders of the land, and spoke to all the assembly of the people, saying: | IZ UIQMU ENShIM MZQNI AERTs UIEMRU EL-KL-QAL AOM LEMR | יז ויקמו אנשים מזקני הארץ ויאמרו אל-כל-קהל העם לאמר | ||
| 18 'Micah the Morashtite prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah; and he spoke to all the people of Judah, saying: Thus says IAUA of hosts: Zion shall be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest. | ICh MIKIA (MIKA) AMURShThI AIA NBE BIMI ChZQIAU MLK-IAUDA UIEMR EL-KL-OM IAUDA LEMR KA-EMR IAUA TsBEUTh TsIUN ShDA ThChRSh UIRUShLIM OIIM ThAIA UAR ABITh LBMUTh IOR | יח מיכיה (מיכה) המורשתי היה נבא בימי חזקיהו מלך-יהודה ויאמר אל-כל-עם יהודה לאמר כה-אמר יהוה צבאות ציון שדה תחרש וירושלים עיים תהיה והר הבית לבמות יער | ||
| 19 Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him at all to death? did he not fear IAUA, and entreat the favour of IAUA, and IAUA repented Him of the evil which He had pronounced against them? Thus might we procure great evil against our own souls.' | IT AAMTh AMThAU ChZQIAU MLK-IAUDA UKL-IAUDA ALE IRE ETh-IAUA UIChL ETh-FNI IAUA UINChM IAUA EL-AROA EShR-DBR OLIAM UENChNU OShIM ROA GDULA OL-NFShUThINU | יט ההמת המתהו חזקיהו מלך-יהודה וכל-יהודה הלא ירא את-יהוה ויחל את-פני יהוה וינחם יהוה אל-הרעה אשר-דבר עליהם ואנחנו עשים רעה גדולה על-נפשותינו | ||
| 20 There was also a man that prophesied in the name of IAUA, Uriah the son of Shemaiah of Kiriath-jearim; and he prophesied against this city and against this land according to all the words of Jeremiah; | K UGM-EISh AIA MThNBE BShM IAUA EURIAU BN-ShMOIAU MQRITh AIORIM UINBE OL-AOIR AZETh UOL-AERTs AZETh KKL DBRI IRMIAU | כ וגם-איש היה מתנבא בשם יהוה אוריהו בן-שמעיהו מקרית היערים וינבא על-העיר הזאת ועל-הארץ הזאת ככל דברי ירמיהו | ||
| 21 and when Jehoiakim the king, with all his mighty men, and all the princes, heard his words, the king sought to put him to death; but when Uriah heard it, he was afraid, and fled, and went into Egypt; | KE UIShMO AMLK-IAUIQIM UKL-GBURIU UKL-AShRIM ETh-DBRIU UIBQSh AMLK AMIThU UIShMO EURIAU UIRE UIBRCh UIBE MTsRIM | כא וישמע המלך-יהויקים וכל-גבוריו וכל-השרים את-דבריו ויבקש המלך המיתו וישמע אוריהו וירא ויברח ויבא מצרים | ||
