1 Then he called in mine ears with a loud voice, saying: 'Cause you them that have charge over the city to draw near, every man with his destroying weapon in his hand.' 2 And, behold, six men came from the way of the upper gate, which lays toward the north, every man with his weapon of destruction in his hand; and one man in the middle of them clothed in linen, with a writer's inkhorn on his side. They went in, and stood beside the brazen altar. 3 The glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon it was, to the threshold of the house; and He called to the man clothed in linen, who had the writer's inkhorn on his side. {P} G UKBUD ELAI IShREL NOLA MOL AKRUB EShR AIA OLIU EL MFThN ABITh UIQRE EL AEISh ALBSh ABDIM EShR QSTh ASFR BMThNIU {F} ג וכבוד אלהי ישראל נעלה מעל הכרוב אשר היה עליו אל מפתן הבית ויקרא אל האיש הלבש הבדים אשר קסת הספר במתניו {פ}
4 IAUA said unto him: 'Go through the middle of the city, through the middle of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that are done in the middle thereof.' D UIEMR IAUA ELU OBR BThUK AOIR BThUK IRUShLM UAThUITh ThU OL MTsChUTh AENShIM ANENChIM UANENQIM OL KL AThUOBUTh ANOShUTh BThUKA ד ויאמר יהוה אלו עבר בתוך העיר בתוך ירושלם והתוית תו על מצחות האנשים הנאנחים והנאנקים על כל התועבות הנעשות בתוכה
5 To the others He said in my hearing: 'Go you through the city after him, and smite; let not your eye spare, neither have you pity; A ULELA EMR BEZNI OBRU BOIR EChRIU UAKU OL (EL ) ThChS OINIKM (OINKM) UEL ThChMLU ה ולאלה אמר באזני עברו בעיר אחריו והכו על (אל ) תחס עיניכם (עינכם) ואל תחמלו
6 slay utterly the old man, the young man and the maiden, and little children and women; but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at My sanctuary.' Then they began at the elders that were before the house. U ZQN BChUR UBThULA UTF UNShIM ThARGU LMShChITh UOL KL EISh EShR OLIU AThU EL ThGShU UMMQDShI ThChLU UIChLU BENShIM AZQNIM EShR LFNI ABITh ו זקן בחור ובתולה וטף ונשים תהרגו למשחית ועל כל איש אשר עליו התו אל תגשו וממקדשי תחלו ויחלו באנשים הזקנים אשר לפני הבית
7 He said unto them: 'Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain; go you forth.' They went forth, and smote in the city. Z UIEMR ELIAM TMEU ETh ABITh UMLEU ETh AChTsRUTh ChLLIM TsEU UITsEU UAKU BOIR ז ויאמר אליהם טמאו את הבית ומלאו את החצרות חללים צאו ויצאו והכו בעיר
8 It came to pass, while they were smiting, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried, and said: 'Ah my Lord IAUA! will You destroy all the residue of Israel in Your pouring out of Your fury upon Jerusalem?' Ch UIAI KAKUThM UNEShER ENI UEFLA OL FNI UEZOQ UEMR EAA EDNI IAUA AMShChITh EThA ETh KL ShERITh IShREL BShFKK ETh ChMThK OL IRUShLM ח ויהי כהכותם ונאשאר אני ואפלה על פני ואזעק ואמר אהה אדני יהוה המשחית אתה את כל שארית ישראל בשפכך את חמתך על ירושלם
9 Then said He unto me: 'The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of wresting of judgment; for they say: IAUA has forsaken the land, and IAUA sees not. T UIEMR ELI OUN BITh IShREL UIAUDA GDUL BMED MED UThMLE AERTs DMIM UAOIR MLEA MTA KI EMRU OZB IAUA ETh AERTs UEIN IAUA REA ט ויאמר אלי עון בית ישראל ויהודה גדול במאד מאד ותמלא הארץ דמים והעיר מלאה מטה כי אמרו עזב יהוה את הארץ ואין יהוה ראה
10 As for Me also, Mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity, but I will bring their way upon their head.' I UGM ENI LE ThChUS OINI ULE EChML DRKM BREShM NThThI י וגם אני לא תחוס עיני ולא אחמל דרכם בראשם נתתי
11 And, behold, the man clothed in linen, who had the inkhorn on his side, reported, saying: 'I have done according to all that You have commanded me.' {P} IE UANA AEISh LBSh ABDIM EShR AQSTh BMThNIU MShIB DBR LEMR OShIThI KEShR (KKL EShR) TsUIThNI {F} יא והנה האיש לבש הבדים אשר הקסת במתניו משיב דבר לאמר עשיתי כאשר (ככל אשר) צויתני {פ}

8 It came to pass, while they were smiting, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried, and said: 'Ah my Lord IAUA! will You destroy all the residue of Israel in Your pouring out of Your fury upon Jerusalem?' 9 Then said He unto me: 'The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of wresting of judgment; for they say: IAUA has forsaken the land, and IAUA sees not.
