A Little Foolishness

5 There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, like an error which proceeds from a ruler: A ISh ROA REIThI ThChTh AShMSh KShGGA ShITsE MLFNI AShLIT ה יש רעה ראיתי תחת השמש כשגגה שיצא מלפני השליט
6 Folly is set on great heights, and the rich sit in low place. U NThN ASKL BMRUMIM RBIM UOShIRIM BShFL IShBU ו נתן הסכל במרומים רבים ועשירים בשפל ישבו
7 I have seen servants on horses, and princes walking as servants on the earth. Z REIThI OBDIM OL-SUSIM UShRIM ALKIM KOBDIM OL-AERTs ז ראיתי עבדים על-סוסים ושרים הלכים כעבדים על-הארץ
8 He that digs a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaks through a fence, a serpent shall bite him. Ch ChFR GUMTs BU IFUL UFRTs GDR IShKNU NChSh ח חפר גומץ בו יפול ופרץ גדר ישכנו נחש
9 Whoso quarries stones shall be hurt therewith; and he that cleaves wood is endangered thereby. T MSIO EBNIM IOTsB BAM BUQO OTsIM ISKN BM ט מסיע אבנים יעצב בהם בוקע עצים יסכן בם
10 If the iron be blunt, and one do not whet the edge, then must he put to more strength; but wisdom is profitable to direct. I EM-QAA ABRZL UAUE LE-FNIM QLQL UChILIM IGBR UIThRUN AKShIR ChKMA י אם-קהה הברזל והוא לא-פנים קלקל וחילים יגבר ויתרון הכשיר חכמה

16 Woe to you, O land, when your king is a boy, and your princes feast in the morning! TZ EI-LK ERTs ShMLKK NOR UShRIK BBQR IEKLU טז אי-לך ארץ שמלכך נער ושריך בבקר יאכלו
17 Happy are you, O land, when your king is a free man, and your princes eat in due season, in strength, and not in drunkenness! IZ EShRIK ERTs ShMLKK BN-ChURIM UShRIK BOTh IEKLU BGBURA ULE BShThI יז אשריך ארץ שמלכך בן-חורים ושריך בעת יאכלו בגבורה ולא בשתי
18 By slothfulness the rafters sink in; and through idleness of the hands the house leaks. ICh BOTsLThIM IMK AMQRA UBShFLUTh IDIM IDLF ABITh יח בעצלתים ימך המקרה ובשפלות ידים ידלף הבית
19 A feast is made for laughter, and wine makes glad the life; and money answers all things. IT LShChUQ OShIM LChM UIIN IShMCh ChIIM UAKSF IONA ETh-AKL יט לשחוק עשים לחם ויין ישמח חיים והכסף יענה את-הכל
20 Curse not the king, no, not in your thought, and curse not the rich in your bedchamber; for a flying creature of the heavens shall carry the voice, and that which has wings shall tell the matter.
