3 Know therefore this day, that IAUA your God is He who goes over before you as a devouring fire; He will destroy them, and He will bring them down before you; so shall you drive them out, and make them to perish quickly, as IAUA has spoken unto you. 4 Speak not you in your heart, after that IAUA your God has thrust them out from before you, saying: 'For my righteousness IAUA has brought me in to possess this land'; whereas for the wickedness of these nations IAUA does drive them out from before you. 5 Not for your righteousness, or for the uprightness of your heart, dost you go in to possess their land; but for the wickedness of these nations IAUA your God does drive them out from before you, and that He may establish the word which IAUA swore unto your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. 6 Know therefore that it is not for your righteousness that IAUA your God gives you this good land to possess it; for you are a stiffnecked people. U UIDOTh KI LE BTsDQThK IAUA ELAIK NThN LK ETh AERTs ATUBA AZETh LRShThA KI OM QShA ORF EThA ו וידעת כי לא בצדקתך יהוה אלהיך נתן לך את הארץ הטובה הזאת לרשתה כי עם קשה ערף אתה
7 Remember, forget you not, how you didst make IAUA your God wroth in the wilderness; from the day that you didst go forth out of the land of Egypt, until you came unto this place, you have been rebellious against IAUA. 8 Also in Horeb you made IAUA wroth, and IAUA was angered with you to have destroyed you. Ch UBChRB AQTsFThM ETh IAUA UIThENF IAUA BKM LAShMID EThKM ח ובחרב הקצפתם את יהוה ויתאנף יהוה בכם להשמיד אתכם
9 When I was gone up into the mount to receive the tables of stone, even the tables of the covenant which IAUA made with you, then I abode in the mount forty days and forty nights; I did neither eat bread nor drink water. T BOLThI AARA LQChTh LUChTh AEBNIM LUChTh ABRITh EShR KRTh IAUA OMKM UEShB BAR ERBOIM IUM UERBOIM LILA LChM LE EKLThI UMIM LE ShThIThI ט בעלתי ההרה לקחת לוחת האבנים לוחת הברית אשר כרת יהוה עמכם ואשב בהר ארבעים יום וארבעים לילה לחם לא אכלתי ומים לא שתיתי
10 IAUA delivered unto me the two tables of stone written with the finger of God; and on them was written according to all the words, which IAUA spoke with you in the mount out of the middle of the fire in the day of the assembly. 11 It came to pass at the end of forty days and forty nights, that IAUA gave me the two tables of stone, even the tables of the covenant. IE UIAI MQTs ERBOIM IUM UERBOIM LILA NThN IAUA ELI ETh ShNI LChTh AEBNIM LChUTh ABRITh יא ויהי מקץ ארבעים יום וארבעים לילה נתן יהוה אלי את שני לחת האבנים לחות הברית
12 IAUA said unto me: 'Arise, get you down quickly from hence; for your people that you have brought forth out of Egypt have dealt corruptly; they are quickly turned aside out of the way which I commanded them; they have made them a molten image.' 13 Furthermore IAUA spoke unto me, saying: 'I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people; IG UIEMR IAUA ELI LEMR REIThI ETh AOM AZA UANA OM QShA ORF AUE יג ויאמר יהוה אלי לאמר ראיתי את העם הזה והנה עם קשה ערף הוא
14 let Me alone, that I may destroy them, and blot out their name from under heaven; and I will make of you a nation mightier and greater than they.' ID ARF MMNI UEShMIDM UEMChA ETh ShMM MThChTh AShMIM UEOShA EUThK LGUI OTsUM URB MMNU יד הרף ממני ואשמידם ואמחה את שמם מתחת השמים ואעשה אותך לגוי עצום ורב ממנו
15 So I turned and came down from the mount, and the mount burned with fire; and the two tables of the covenant were in my two hands. TU UEFN UERD MN AAR UAAR BOR BESh UShNI LUChTh ABRITh OL ShThI IDI טו ואפן וארד מן ההר וההר בער באש ושני לוחת הברית על שתי ידי
16 I looked, and, behold, you had sinned against IAUA your God; you had made you a molten calf; you had turned aside quickly out of the way which IAUA had commanded you. TZ UERE UANA ChTEThM LIAUA ELAIKM OShIThM LKM OGL MSKA SRThM MAR MN ADRK EShR TsUA IAUA EThKM טז וארא והנה חטאתם ליהוה אלהיכם עשיתם לכם עגל מסכה סרתם מהר מן הדרך אשר צוה יהוה אתכם
17 I took hold of the two tables, and cast them out of my two hands, and broke them before your eyes. IZ UEThFSh BShNI ALChTh UEShLKM MOL ShThI IDI UEShBRM LOINIKM יז ואתפש בשני הלחת ואשלכם מעל שתי ידי ואשברם לעיניכם
18 I fell down before IAUA, as at the first, forty days and forty nights; I did neither eat bread nor drink water; because of all your sin which you sinned, in doing that which was evil in the sight of IAUA, to provoke Him. ICh UEThNFL LFNI IAUA KREShNA ERBOIM IUM UERBOIM LILA LChM LE EKLThI UMIM LE ShThIThI OL KL ChTEThKM EShR ChTEThM LOShUTh ARO BOINI IAUA LAKOISU יח ואתנפל לפני יהוה כראשנה ארבעים יום וארבעים לילה לחם לא אכלתי ומים לא שתיתי על כל חטאתכם אשר חטאתם לעשות הרע בעיני יהוה להכעיסו
19 For I was in dread of the anger and hot displeasure, wherewith IAUA was wroth against you to destroy you. But IAUA hearkened unto me that time also. IT KI IGRThI MFNI AEF UAChMA EShR QTsF IAUA OLIKM LAShMID EThKM UIShMO IAUA ELI GM BFOM AAUE יט כי יגרתי מפני האף והחמה אשר קצף יהוה עליכם להשמיד אתכם וישמע יהוה אלי גם בפעם ההוא
20 Moreover IAUA was very angry with Aaron to have destroyed him; and I prayed for Aaron also the same time. K UBEARN AThENF IAUA MED LAShMIDU UEThFLL GM BOD EARN BOTh AAUE כ ובאהרן התאנף יהוה מאד להשמידו ואתפלל גם בעד אהרן בעת ההוא
21 I took your sin, the calf which you had made, and burnt it with fire, and beat it in pieces, grinding it very small, until it was as fine as dust; and I cast the dust thereof into the brook that descended out of the mount.-- KE UETh ChTEThKM EShR OShIThM ETh AOGL LQChThI UEShRF EThU BESh UEKTh EThU TChUN AITB OD EShR DQ LOFR UEShLK ETh OFRU EL ANChL AIRD MN AAR כא ואת חטאתכם אשר עשיתם את העגל לקחתי ואשרף אתו באש ואכת אתו טחון היטב עד אשר דק לעפר ואשלך את עפרו אל הנחל הירד מן ההר
22 At Taberah, and at Massah, and at Kibroth-hattaavah, you made IAUA wroth. KB UBThBORA UBMSA UBQBRTh AThEUA MQTsFIM AIIThM ETh IAUA כב ובתבערה ובמסה ובקברת התאוה מקצפים הייתם את יהוה
23 When IAUA sent you from Kadesh-barnea, saying: 'Go up and possess the land which I have given you'; then you rebelled against the commandment of IAUA your God, and you believed Him not, nor hearkened to His voice. KG UBShLCh IAUA EThKM MQDSh BRNO LEMR OLU URShU ETh AERTs EShR NThThI LKM UThMRU ETh FI IAUA ELAIKM ULE AEMNThM LU ULE ShMOThM BQLU כג ובשלח יהוה אתכם מקדש ברנע לאמר עלו ורשו את הארץ אשר נתתי לכם ותמרו את פי יהוה אלהיכם ולא האמנתם לו ולא שמעתם בקלו
24 You have been rebellious against IAUA from the day that I knew you.-- KD MMRIM AIIThM OM IAUA MIUM DOThI EThKM כד ממרים הייתם עם יהוה מיום דעתי אתכם
25 So I fell down before IAUA the forty days and forty nights that I fell down; because IAUA had said He would destroy you. KA UEThNFL LFNI IAUA ETh ERBOIM AIUM UETh ERBOIM ALILA EShR AThNFLThI KI EMR IAUA LAShMID EThKM כה ואתנפל לפני יהוה את ארבעים היום ואת ארבעים הלילה אשר התנפלתי כי אמר יהוה להשמיד אתכם
26 I prayed unto IAUA, and said: 'My Lord IAUA, destroy not Your people and Your inheritance, that You have redeemed through Your greatness, that You have brought forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand. KU UEThFLL EL IAUA UEMR EDNI IAUA EL ThShChTh OMK UNChLThK EShR FDITh BGDLK EShR AUTsETh MMTsRIM BID ChZQA כו ואתפלל אל יהוה ואמר אדני יהוה אל תשחת עמך ונחלתך אשר פדית בגדלך אשר הוצאת ממצרים ביד חזקה
27 Remember Your servants, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; look not unto the stubbornness of this people, nor to their wickedness, nor to their sin; KZ ZKR LOBDIK LEBRAM LITsChQ ULIOQB EL ThFN EL QShI AOM AZA UEL RShOU UEL ChTEThU כז זכר לעבדיך לאברהם ליצחק וליעקב אל תפן אל קשי העם הזה ואל רשעו ואל חטאתו
28 unless the land whence You brought us out say: Because IAUA was not able to bring them into the land which He promised unto them, and because He hated them, He has brought them out to slay them in the wilderness.
