The Ark Brought into the Temple | ||||

| 3 All the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark. | G UIBEU KL ZQNI IShREL UIShEU AKANIM ETh-AERUN | ג ויבאו כל זקני ישראל וישאו הכהנים את-הארון | ||
| 4 They brought up the ark of IAUA, and the tent of Holy Days, and all the holy vessels that were in the Tent; even these did the priests and the Levites bring up. | D UIOLU ETh-ERUN IAUA UETh-EAL MUOD UETh-KL-KLI AQDSh EShR BEAL UIOLU EThM AKANIM UALUIM | ד ויעלו את-ארון יהוה ואת-אהל מועד ואת-כל-כלי הקדש אשר באהל ויעלו אתם הכהנים והלוים | ||
| 5 King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled to him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, that could not be told nor numbered for multitude. | A UAMLK ShLMA UKL-ODTh IShREL ANUODIM OLIU EThU LFNI AERUN MZBChIM TsEN UBQR EShR LE-ISFRU ULE IMNU MRB | ה והמלך שלמה וכל-עדת ישראל הנועדים עליו אתו לפני הארון מזבחים צאן ובקר אשר לא-יספרו ולא ימנו מרב | ||
| 6 The priests brought in the ark of the covenant of IAUA to its place, into the Sanctuary of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubim. | U UIBEU AKANIM ETh-ERUN BRITh-IAUA EL-MQUMU EL-DBIR ABITh EL-QDSh AQDShIM EL-ThChTh KNFI AKRUBIM | ו ויבאו הכהנים את-ארון ברית-יהוה אל-מקומו אל-דביר הבית אל-קדש הקדשים אל-תחת כנפי הכרובים | ||

| 10 It came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of IAUA, | I UIAI BTsETh AKANIM MN-AQDSh UAONN MLE ETh-BITh IAUA | י ויהי בצאת הכהנים מן-הקדש והענן מלא את-בית יהוה | ||
| 11 so that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud; for the glory of IAUA filled the house of IAUA. | IE ULE-IKLU AKANIM LOMD LShRTh MFNI AONN KI-MLE KBUD-IAUA ETh-BITh IAUA | יא ולא-יכלו הכהנים לעמד לשרת מפני הענן כי-מלא כבוד-יהוה את-בית יהוה | ||
| 12 Then spoke Solomon: IAUA has said that He would dwell in the thick darkness. | IB EZ EMR ShLMA IAUA EMR LShKN BORFL | יב אז אמר שלמה יהוה אמר לשכן בערפל | ||
| 13 I have surely built You a house of habitation, a place for You to dwell in for ever. | IG BNA BNIThI BITh ZBL LK MKUN LShBThK OULMIM | יג בנה בניתי בית זבל לך מכון לשבתך עולמים | ||
| 14 The king turned his face about, and blessed all the congregation of Israel; and all the congregation of Israel stood. | ID UISB AMLK ETh-FNIU UIBRK ETh KL-QAL IShREL UKL-QAL IShREL OMD | יד ויסב המלך את-פניו ויברך את כל-קהל ישראל וכל-קהל ישראל עמד | ||
| 15 He said: 'Blessed be IAUA, the God of Israel, who spoke with His mouth to David my father, and has with His hand fulfilled it, saying: | TU UIEMR BRUK IAUA ELAI IShREL EShR DBR BFIU ETh DUD EBI UBIDU MLE LEMR | טו ויאמר ברוך יהוה אלהי ישראל אשר דבר בפיו את דוד אבי ובידו מלא לאמר | ||

| 17 Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of IAUA, the God of Israel. | IZ UIAI OM-LBB DUD EBI LBNUTh BITh LShM IAUA ELAI IShREL | יז ויהי עם-לבב דוד אבי לבנות בית לשם יהוה אלהי ישראל | ||
| 18 But IAUA said to David my father: Whereas it was in your heart to build a house for My name, you didst well that it was in your heart; | ICh UIEMR IAUA EL-DUD EBI ION EShR AIA OM-LBBK LBNUTh BITh LShMI ATIBTh KI AIA OM-LBBK | יח ויאמר יהוה אל-דוד אבי יען אשר היה עם-לבבך לבנות בית לשמי הטיבת כי היה עם-לבבך | ||
| 19 nevertheless you shall not build the house; but your son that shall come forth out of your loins, he shall build the house for My name. | IT RQ EThA LE ThBNA ABITh KI EM-BNK AITsE MChLTsIK AUE-IBNA ABITh LShMI | יט רק אתה לא תבנה הבית כי אם-בנך היצא מחלציך הוא-יבנה הבית לשמי | ||

| 21 There have I set a place for the ark, wherein is the covenant of IAUA, which He made with our fathers, when He brought them out of the land of Egypt.' | KE UEShM ShM MQUM LERUN EShR-ShM BRITh IAUA EShR KRTh OM-EBThINU BAUTsIEU EThM MERTs MTsRIM | כא ואשם שם מקום לארון אשר-שם ברית יהוה אשר כרת עם-אבתינו בהוציאו אתם מארץ מצרים | ||
| 22 Solomon stood before the altar of IAUA in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven; | KB UIOMD ShLMA LFNI MZBCh IAUA NGD KL-QAL IShREL UIFRSh KFIU AShMIM | כב ויעמד שלמה לפני מזבח יהוה נגד כל-קהל ישראל ויפרש כפיו השמים | ||
| 23 and he said: 'O IAUA, the God of Israel, there is no God like You, in heaven above, or on earth beneath; who keep covenant and mercy with Your servants, that walk before You with all their heart; | KG UIEMR IAUA ELAI IShREL EIN-KMUK ELAIM BShMIM MMOL UOL-AERTs MThChTh ShMR ABRITh UAChSD LOBDIK AALKIM LFNIK BKL-LBM | כג ויאמר יהוה אלהי ישראל אין-כמוך אלהים בשמים ממעל ועל-הארץ מתחת שמר הברית והחסד לעבדיך ההלכים לפניך בכל-לבם | ||

| 26 Now therefore, O God of Israel, let Your word, I pray You, be verified, which You didst speak to Your servant David my father. | KU UOThA ELAI IShREL IEMN NE DBRIK (DBRK) EShR DBRTh LOBDK DUD EBI | כו ועתה אלהי ישראל יאמן נא דבריך (דברך) אשר דברת לעבדך דוד אבי | ||
| 27 But will God in very truth dwell on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain You; how much less this house that I have builded! | KZ KI AEMNM IShB ELAIM OL-AERTs ANA AShMIM UShMI AShMIM LE IKLKLUK EF KI-ABITh AZA EShR BNIThI | כז כי האמנם ישב אלהים על-הארץ הנה השמים ושמי השמים לא יכלכלוך אף כי-הבית הזה אשר בניתי | ||
| 28 Yet have You respect to the prayer of Your servant, and to his supplication, O IAUA my God, to hearken to the cry and to the prayer which Your servant prays before You this day; | KCh UFNITh EL-ThFLTh OBDK UEL-ThChNThU IAUA ELAI LShMO EL-ARNA UEL-AThFLA EShR OBDK MThFLL LFNIK AIUM | כח ופנית אל-תפלת עבדך ואל-תחנתו יהוה אלהי לשמע אל-הרנה ואל-התפלה אשר עבדך מתפלל לפניך היום | ||
| 29 that Your eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place whereof You have said: My name shall be there; to hearken to the prayer which Your servant shall pray toward this place. | KT LAIUTh OINK FThChTh EL-ABITh AZA LILA UIUM EL-AMQUM EShR EMRTh IAIA ShMI ShM LShMO EL-AThFLA EShR IThFLL OBDK EL-AMQUM AZA | כט להיות עינך פתחת אל-הבית הזה לילה ויום אל-המקום אשר אמרת יהיה שמי שם לשמע אל-התפלה אשר יתפלל עבדך אל-המקום הזה | ||
| 30 Hearken You to the supplication of Your servant, and of Your people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place; yes, hear You in heaven Your dwelling-place; and when You hear, forgive. | L UShMOTh EL-ThChNTh OBDK UOMK IShREL EShR IThFLLU EL-AMQUM AZA UEThA ThShMO EL-MQUM ShBThK EL-AShMIM UShMOTh USLChTh | ל ושמעת אל-תחנת עבדך ועמך ישראל אשר יתפללו אל-המקום הזה ואתה תשמע אל-מקום שבתך אל-השמים ושמעת וסלחת | ||
| 31 If a man sin against his neighbor, and an oath be exacted of him to cause him to swear, and he come and swear before Your altar in this house; | LE ETh EShR IChTE EISh LROAU UNShE-BU ELA LAELThU UBE ELA LFNI MZBChK BBITh AZA | לא את אשר יחטא איש לרעהו ונשא-בו אלה להאלתו ובא אלה לפני מזבחך בבית הזה | ||

| 33 When Your people Israel are smitten down before the enemy, when they do sin against You, if they turn again to You, and confess Your name, and pray and make supplication to You in this house; | LG BANGF OMK IShREL LFNI EUIB EShR IChTEU-LK UShBU ELIK UAUDU ETh-ShMK UAThFLLU UAThChNNU ELIK BBITh AZA | לג בהנגף עמך ישראל לפני אויב אשר יחטאו-לך ושבו אליך והודו את-שמך והתפללו והתחננו אליך בבית הזה | ||
| 34 then hear You in heaven, and forgive the sin of Your people Israel, and bring them back to the land which You gave to their fathers. | LD UEThA ThShMO AShMIM USLChTh LChTETh OMK IShREL UAShBThM EL-AEDMA EShR NThTh LEBUThM | לד ואתה תשמע השמים וסלחת לחטאת עמך ישראל והשבתם אל-האדמה אשר נתת לאבותם | ||
| 35 When heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, when they do sin against You; if they pray toward this place, and confess Your name, and turn from their sin, when You dost afflict them; | LA BAOTsR ShMIM ULE-IAIA MTR KI IChTEU-LK UAThFLLU EL-AMQUM AZA UAUDU ETh-ShMK UMChTEThM IShUBUN KI ThONM | לה בהעצר שמים ולא-יהיה מטר כי יחטאו-לך והתפללו אל-המקום הזה והודו את-שמך ומחטאתם ישובון כי תענם | ||

| 41 Moreover concerning the stranger that is not of Your people Israel, when he shall come out of a far country for Your name's sake-- | ME UGM EL-ANKRI EShR LE-MOMK IShREL AUE UBE MERTs RChUQA LMON ShMK | מא וגם אל-הנכרי אשר לא-מעמך ישראל הוא ובא מארץ רחוקה למען שמך | ||
| 42 for they shall hear of Your great name, and of Your mighty hand, and of Your outstretched arm--when he shall come and pray toward this house; | MB KI IShMOUN ETh-ShMK AGDUL UETh-IDK AChZQA UZROK ANTUIA UBE UAThFLL EL-ABITh AZA | מב כי ישמעון את-שמך הגדול ואת-ידך החזקה וזרעך הנטויה ובא והתפלל אל-הבית הזה | ||
| 43 hear You in heaven Your dwelling-place, and do according to all that the stranger calls to You for; that all the peoples of the earth may know Your name, to fear You, as does Your people Israel, and that they may know that Your name is called on this house which I have built. | MG EThA ThShMO AShMIM MKUN ShBThK UOShITh KKL EShR-IQRE ELIK ANKRI LMON IDOUN KL-OMI AERTs ETh-ShMK LIREA EThK KOMK IShREL ULDOTh KI-ShMK NQRE OL-ABITh AZA EShR BNIThI | מג אתה תשמע השמים מכון שבתך ועשית ככל אשר-יקרא אליך הנכרי למען ידעון כל-עמי הארץ את-שמך ליראה אתך כעמך ישראל ולדעת כי-שמך נקרא על-הבית הזה אשר בניתי | ||
| 44 If Your people go out to battle against their enemy, by whatsoever way You shall send them, and they pray to IAUA toward the city which You have chosen, and toward the house which I have built for Your name; | MD KI-ITsE OMK LMLChMA OL-EIBU BDRK EShR ThShLChM UAThFLLU EL-IAUA DRK AOIR EShR BChRTh BA UABITh EShR-BNThI LShMK | מד כי-יצא עמך למלחמה על-איבו בדרך אשר תשלחם והתפללו אל-יהוה דרך העיר אשר בחרת בה והבית אשר-בנתי לשמך | ||
| 45 then hear You in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause. | MA UShMOTh AShMIM ETh-ThFLThM UETh-ThChNThM UOShITh MShFTM | מה ושמעת השמים את-תפלתם ואת-תחנתם ועשית משפטם | ||
| 46 If they sin against You--for there is no man that sins not--and You be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captive to the land of the enemy, far off or near; | MU KI IChTEU-LK KI EIN EDM EShR LE-IChTE UENFTh BM UNThThM LFNI EUIB UShBUM ShBIAM EL-ERTs AEUIB RChUQA EU QRUBA | מו כי יחטאו-לך כי אין אדם אשר לא-יחטא ואנפת בם ונתתם לפני אויב ושבום שביהם אל-ארץ האויב רחוקה או קרובה | ||
| 47 yet if they shall bethink themselves in the land whither they are carried captive, and turn back, and make supplication to You in the land of them that carried them captive, saying: We have sinned, and have done iniquitously, we have dealt wickedly; | MZ UAShIBU EL-LBM BERTs EShR NShBU-ShM UShBU UAThChNNU ELIK BERTs ShBIAM LEMR ChTENU UAOUINU RShONU | מז והשיבו אל-לבם בארץ אשר נשבו-שם ושבו והתחננו אליך בארץ שביהם לאמר חטאנו והעוינו רשענו | ||
| 48 if they return to You with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their enemies, who carried them captive, and pray to You toward their land, which You gave to their fathers, the city which You have chosen, and the house which I have built for Your name; | MCh UShBU ELIK BKL-LBBM UBKL-NFShM BERTs EIBIAM EShR-ShBU EThM UAThFLLU ELIK DRK ERTsM EShR NThThA LEBUThM AOIR EShR BChRTh UABITh EShR-BNITh (BNIThI) LShMK | מח ושבו אליך בכל-לבבם ובכל-נפשם בארץ איביהם אשר-שבו אתם והתפללו אליך דרך ארצם אשר נתתה לאבותם העיר אשר בחרת והבית אשר-בנית (בניתי) לשמך | ||
| 49 then hear You their prayer and their supplication in heaven Your dwelling-place, and maintain their cause; | MT UShMOTh AShMIM MKUN ShBThK ETh-ThFLThM UETh-ThChNThM UOShITh MShFTM | מט ושמעת השמים מכון שבתך את-תפלתם ואת-תחנתם ועשית משפטם | ||
| 50 and forgive Your people who have sinned against You, and all their transgressions wherein they have transgressed against You; and give them compassion before those who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them; | N USLChTh LOMK EShR ChTEU-LK ULKL-FShOIAM EShR FShOU-BK UNThThM LRChMIM LFNI ShBIAM URChMUM | נ וסלחת לעמך אשר חטאו-לך ולכל-פשעיהם אשר פשעו-בך ונתתם לרחמים לפני שביהם ורחמום | ||
| 51 for they are Your people, and Your inheritance, which You brought forth out of Egypt, from the middle of the furnace of iron; | NE KI-OMK UNChLThK AM EShR AUTsETh MMTsRIM MThUK KUR ABRZL | נא כי-עמך ונחלתך הם אשר הוצאת ממצרים מתוך כור הברזל | ||

| 63 Solomon offered for the sacrifice of peace-offerings, which he offered to IAUA, two and twenty thousand oxen, and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep.
