Ahab Covets Naboth's Vineyard | ||||

| 4 Ahab came into his house sullen and displeased because of the word which Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken to him; for he had said: 'I will not give you the inheritance of my fathers.' | 5 But Jezebel his wife came to him, and said to him: 'Why is your spirit so sullen, that you eat no bread?' | A UThBE ELIU EIZBL EShThU UThDBR ELIU MA-ZA RUChK SRA UEINK EKL LChM | ה ותבא אליו איזבל אשתו ותדבר אליו מה-זה רוחך סרה ואינך אכל לחם | ||

| 8 So she wrote letters in Ahab's name, and sealed them with his seal, and sent the letters to the elders and to the nobles that were in his city, and that dwelt with Naboth. | Ch UThKThB SFRIM BShM EChEB UThChThM BChThMU UThShLCh ASFRIM (SFRIM) EL-AZQNIM UEL-AChRIM EShR BOIRU AIShBIM ETh-NBUTh | ח ותכתב ספרים בשם אחאב ותחתם בחתמו ותשלח הספרים (ספרים) אל-הזקנים ואל-החרים אשר בעירו הישבים את-נבות | ||
| 9 She wrote in the letters, saying: 'Proclaim a fast, and set Naboth at the head of the people; | T UThKThB BSFRIM LEMR QREU-TsUM UAShIBU ETh-NBUTh BRESh AOM | ט ותכתב בספרים לאמר קראו-צום והשיבו את-נבות בראש העם | ||
| 10 and set two men, base fellows, before him, and let them bear witness against him, saying: You didst curse God and the king. Then carry him out, and stone him, that he die.' | I UAUShIBU ShNIM ENShIM BNI-BLIOL NGDU UIODAU LEMR BRKTh ELAIM UMLK UAUTsIEAU USQLAU UIMTh | י והושיבו שנים אנשים בני-בליעל נגדו ויעדהו לאמר ברכת אלהים ומלך והוציאהו וסקלהו וימת | ||

| 13 The two men, the base fellows, came in and sat before him; and the base fellows bore witness against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying: 'Naboth did curse God and the king.' | 14 Then they sent to Jezebel, saying: 'Naboth is stoned, and is dead.' | ID UIShLChU EL-EIZBL LEMR SQL NBUTh UIMTh | יד וישלחו אל-איזבל לאמר סקל נבות וימת | ||

| 18 'Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, who dwells in Samaria; behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth, whither he is gone down to take possession of it. | ICh QUM RD LQRETh EChEB MLK-IShREL EShR BShMRUN ANA BKRM NBUTh EShR-IRD ShM LRShThU | יח קום רד לקראת אחאב מלך-ישראל אשר בשמרון הנה בכרם נבות אשר-ירד שם לרשתו | ||

| 20 Ahab said to Elijah: 'Have you found me, O mine enemy?' | 21 Behold, I will bring evil on you, and will utterly sweep you away, and will cut off from Ahab every man-child, and him that is shut up and him that is left at large in Israel. | KE ANNI MBI ELIK ROA UBORThI EChRIK UAKRThI LEChEB MShThIN BQIR UOTsUR UOZUB BIShREL | כא הנני מבי אליך רעה ובערתי אחריך והכרתי לאחאב משתין בקיר ועצור ועזוב בישראל | ||
| 22 I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasa the son of Ahijah, for the provocation wherewith you have provoked Me, and have made Israel to sin. | KB UNThThI ETh-BIThK KBITh IRBOM BN-NBT UKBITh BOShE BN-EChIA EL-AKOS EShR AKOSTh UThChTE ETh-IShREL | כב ונתתי את-ביתך כבית ירבעם בן-נבט וכבית בעשא בן-אחיה אל-הכעס אשר הכעסת ותחטא את-ישראל | ||

| 24 Him that dies of Ahab in the city the dogs shall eat; and him that dies in the field shall the flying creatures of the heavens eat.' | KD AMTh LEChEB BOIR IEKLU AKLBIM UAMTh BShDA IEKLU OUF AShMIM | כד המת לאחאב בעיר יאכלו הכלבים והמת בשדה יאכלו עוף השמים | ||
| 25 But there was none like to Ahab, who did give himself over to do that which was evil in the sight of IAUA, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up. | KA RQ LE-AIA KEChEB EShR AThMKR LOShUTh ARO BOINI IAUA EShR-ASThA EThU EIZBL EShThU | כה רק לא-היה כאחאב אשר התמכר לעשות הרע בעיני יהוה אשר-הסתה אתו איזבל אשתו | ||
